Introduction
InfoTipp Rendszerház Kft. ("we", "us", "our") operates the BruteFence website and software.
This Privacy Policy applies to both our website (brutefence.com) and the BruteFence application.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with GDPR regulations.
Software Data Collection
âś… No Telemetry
BruteFence does not collect or transmit usage statistics or attack logs. All security logs remain local on your machine. Only essential technical communication occurs: license validation and update checks, transmitting minimal technical data (version number, license key) — no personal data, no behavioral tracking.
License Validation
- • License key validation
- • Purpose: Anti-piracy and VPS clone protection only
Auto-Update System
- • Current version number transmitted
- • No personal data included
How does BruteFence detect your server's public IP?
To determine your server's public IP address (used to check whether your server is on the InfoTipp customer whitelist for free licensing), the BruteFence Service makes a single HTTPS request to brutefence.com/api/ip on startup and during license validation. The endpoint runs on our own infrastructure (no third-party services), is rate-limited to 60 requests per source IP per hour, and is authenticated with a build-time shared secret. The endpoint only echoes back your request's source IP address — nothing is logged, stored, or shared.
What is the hardware fingerprint?
BruteFence licenses are hardware-bound. The Service computes a hardware fingerprint from non-personal hardware identifiers on your machine (motherboard serial, system UUID, etc.) and sends it to the InfoTipp license server alongside the license key during validation. This binding prevents a single license key from being used on unlimited machines. The fingerprint contains no personal information — it cannot identify you, only the machine.
